iPhone Photographs & Drawings

Concept

I have long worked with photographs, using digital tools such as Photoshop to merge painting and photography. My latest series, "iPhone Photographs & Drawings," is shot on an iPhone, with the drawings made using iPhone apps or a custom AI drawing tool I developed myself. The title is an homage to David Hockney. Using Photoshop's "finger tools," among others, I treat the color information of a photograph like paint on a palette — stretching it, blending it, playing with the image while balancing chance and intention, or the physical and the symbolic.
