Concept
The Hyper Shrine Omamori was created as a protective charm that houses a digital kami. Embedded with an NFC chip, the work allows viewers to access an online shrine dedicated to their kami by holding a smartphone over it. Within the online shrine, visitors can receive worshippers and share the shrine’s URL with others. As the number of visits increases, the kami grows and gradually transforms into higher forms such as Myōjin, Daimyōjin, and Ōmikami. The work is linked to NFT art and unfolds across digital and physical omamori charms, online spaces, and exhibition environments as an interconnected series.
