Concept

I’m painting directly onto a green screen. When novels or manga are adapted into live-action or animated films, there are times when I think, “Oh, they cut that scene…” But when I think about it rationally, they have to condense it into a two-hour runtime, so I convince myself that if anything has to be cut, it’s only the everyday scenes unrelated to the main plot or the unnecessary dialogue. However, even when I watch a version that’s been neatly condensed and organized, I can’t quite feel the same sense of emotion I experienced in the original work. Perhaps it is precisely within the elements discarded as “unnecessary” that something symbolic of that era or the work itself lies.
